Bussiness trip 3,4: Athens, Thessaloniki!

18/6/2007, Athens: They look like holiday photoes, but trust me, they are not! We stayed at DIVANI Apollon Pallace. Great place, good service. I was so annoyed that I had to prepare some reports and I didn't have the time to "visit" the swimming pool... If you haven't tried the restaurant MYTHOS directly next to the sea, please do it. Classic cuisine, nothing special, but you cannot get closer to the sea...Amazing sunset...Prefer to take your boyfriend/ girlfriend there instead of your researchers...

19 &20/6/2007, Thessaloniki: O-o-o-morfi Thessaloniki (beautiful Thessaloniki!). I was living there for 5 years so I already knew that it is beautiful. It was the first time in 7 years I have been there! The programme was tough (as always): meetings, writing reports, more meetings, more reports. I stayed in Macedonia Palace Hotel and i have to admit that despite its extremely good reputation I was not impressed: slow service, problems with Internet connection in the room ect. However the dinner for our researchers took place in a fancy restaurant ("Entry Fish") and I have to admit it was one of the best dinners I had recently:Modern cuisine, interest tastes...The only problem was that the place is a bit loud. So I highly recommend you to go their with your friends but not with your researchers. Highlight of the trip: I asked the taxi driver who pick me and my collegue from the airport to change a bit the route of the taxi so as to pass outside of the house I used to live in when I was a student. I could hardlly keep my tears while we were passing by. Maybe my collegue noticed it...he didn't say anything though so I didn't had to lie that something troubled my contact lences! I think that the taxi driver will never forget the business woman that asked him to drive her to her old house before taking her to her meeting and she could harldy stop crying...
